How To Remove Mold & Mildew
Yuck! Those nasty little stains are showing up again on your driveway and walkway, or worse right where the kids are playing around the pool deck, making that area slippery and unsafe!
I know what you’re thinking: “I just paid Coastline to clean these areas and remove all of the mold and mildew. Why is it that after only a couple months it’s back?” Ahh, good old Mother Nature, that’s why!
But don’t worry before you pick up the phone and call us, let me give you a simple little trick you can do first and save yourself the money.
Usually these areas are in the shade and water is able to pool up making it easy for the spores to grow quickly, leaving that yucky moldy stain on what was once a beautiful deck or driveway.
So, here is how to remove mold & mildew:
Step 1 - Head over to Home Depot or Lowes and pick yourself up a small garden sprayer, fill it using a 50/50 mixture of household bleach and water.
Step 2 - Spray the mold and mildew area thoroughly and let it sit until the area is cleaned.
Step 3 - Repeat step 2 until the stain has totally disappeared.
Step 4 - Rinse the area thoroughly with water.
That’s it! I know what you’re thinking why do I pay Coastline to do this for me? That’s easy, mold and mildew can only be held at bay for so long and eventually the whole area will need to be done. And YES, that’s when you call us… the professionals! We have all the proper equipment made to clean large areas without harming the vegetation or the sand between the pavers.
I hope this information is helpful! If it is please feel free to share it with a friend :)
Oops! I almost forgot make sure you run soapy water through the sprayer when you’re done to prolong the life of the sprayer.
