IWCA Convention was a huge hit!
A Big Congratulations!
We’re excited to announce that Jason Evers, the owner, was asked to be the keynote speaker at the IWCA 2011 Window Cleaning Convention in St. Petersburg Florida. The topic of Jason’s speech is on the top Keys of Networking and how they have helped him successfully build his business.
Coastline Window Cleaning has been a proud member of the IWCA since 2003 and we are proud to say that since that time we have won the Image Award twice. We are very grateful to have the IWCA and all that it offers us as members. We feel that as business owners we are constantly striving to better our companies whether that is through advertising, image branding, customer service, building better relationships or through improved safety. The IWCA prides itself on educating the business owners from around the world on these very subjects and we happily take advantage of everything they offer!
The following is a segment from a recent interview by Jason Evers, president of Coastline Window Cleaning: “I have built my business around networking, it's always been about relationships for me, whether that is from business-to-business or dealing directly with the customer.”
I think the problem with many businesses is that they are simply out to make a quick buck. What they don't realize is that if they just focused on building strong relationships that lasted over the years, the revenue would always be there. I know that by creating a strong customer base, built around loyalty and good relationships that I will always do fine.
I'm proud to say that after 17 years we are still holding true to that same game plan. I always encourage my staff and employees to ask questions and I tell them to become more personal with the clients. For example I say: Don't be afraid to ask what the dog’s name is. I always enjoy going out to a house that I've cleaned windows at for several years and seeing that familiar dog and reaching down to say Hey Skippy how you doing? That one simple act always seems to put the homeowner at ease because they view me as someone who cares. But hey, if we never asked what the dog’s name was, we wouldn’t be able to do that now would we?
If you really want to grow your business you need to get your customers to like you on a personal level. Let's face it, anyone can run an ad in the paper and put a nice picture or attach a cute tagline and get the business in the door. The key to remember is - when you get out there, can you manage to keep that relationship going? What personal qualities will they remember about you or your staff? Call it networking, customer service, building relationships or whatever you want. The fact of the matter is this: if you don't put the time in and really get to know the people you work for, then you're just another window cleaner.
I never want to be referred to as just another window cleaner.
